Harris Corporation has launched its NEXIO Browse Suite for the quick processing of low-resolution files used in quality news coverage.

While providing ease in H.264 proxy viewing and editing, NEXIO Browse Suite’s comprehensive portfolio of tools makes the integration of a cost-efficient and flexible low-resolution workflow in broadcasting a possibility.

“Simplification” is the term used by Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications, to sum up the benefit of NEXIO Browse Suite on media management and editing.

“High-resolution conforming for play-to-air functions can be performed quickly and seamlessly," he said.

"NEXIO Browse helps eliminate the need for a complex baseband infrastructure for proxy storage and management, making it easier than ever to deploy a low-resolution, file-based workflow in news and sports operations."

The NEXIO Browse suite is part of the Harris NewsForce HD/SD news platform that includes all the tools to generate, view and edit low-resolution proxy files across a storage area network (SAN).

Users can view and edit content simultaneously while enjoying significant reduction in storage and bandwidth requirements. The NEXIO Browse suite helps broadcasters to save money, especially during the present economic crunch affecting companies all over the world.
