To help companies tide the current economic crisis, Linear Acoustic is shipping its Aero.one DTV audio/loudness manager with a special pricing offer up to June 12 this year.Aero.one is Linear Acoustic’s cost-effective solution to manage audio consistency issues between network and local programming. The US company said the solution can help broadcasters, who may have tight budgets because of the current crunch, carry out the switchover to digital transmission. The 1-RU AERO.one can reformat local stereo insertions to match the network's six-channel audio feed while applying loudness and metadata control in order to maintain a consistent, high-quality and seamless surround-sound experience for viewers. It is an all-in-one solution that combines loudness management, 5.1 reformatting and metadata processing with a six-channel audio processor. Linear Acoustic is offering Aero.one at under US$10,000. It is also offering a free upgrade to include HD-SDI de-embedding, reprocessing and re-embedding capabilities plus redundant power supplies, options valued at $3,250. The offer is open for orders placed until this June 12, the federally mandated date for the analogue broadcast switch-off.
