| Kroma packs the pixels into small screens |

Kroma Telecom recently unveiled a number of “new and interesting” products which included a series of SD monitors. Said I Polo Martin, Kroma’s sales area manager: “We have customers who say they want the same high quality of our LM6000 series HD monitors, but they don’t want HD yet,” Martin explained. “Even in a HD environment, there are some applications where HD is not needed. There is still a good demand for high-quality SD monitors.” The new Kroma LM3000 series SD monitors come in 8.4-inch, 15-inch and 18-inch models. They feature, among other things, colour-temperature presets and tri-colour tally. The aspect ratio is 4:3, switchable to 16:9. For HD, Kroma has a new LM6500-series of preview monitors with four-, five- and nine-inch screens. “We have made them very compact. The five-inch monitor, for example, occupies the space of only two panels instead of three,” Martin pointed out. “These monitors are ideal for OB vans, transmission control rooms and sports productions.” The Spain-based Kroma has packed lots of pixels into its small screens. Its five-inch model, for example, boasts 800 x 640 pixels, a resolution normally found only in nine-inch systems. More space-saving ideas are in the form of Kroma’s newest Hybrid matrix wireless intercom systems, which work with analogue, digital and VoiP signals, giving great flexibility and integration possibilities.
