Riedel Communications, a manufacturer of intercom, fibre and audio network technology, has released the latest firmware update for its audio network solution, RockNet, which can be downloaded at www.riedel.net.

With the firmware upgrade, routing is possible not only in “quads” (groups of four channels), but also in single channels and ports, -allowing a connection between any given I/O.

Along with the new routing feature, Riedel has also made the ‘Independent Gain’ function available for any RockNet module. Previously, this function was -possible only on Yamaha mixing consoles, Riedel said. In addition, phantom power can be controlled directly via the front panel of Riedel’s RN.301.MI line/microphone in-put module.

To make installations more transparent, all modules now -feature detailed information on the connection state of their display.

To expand its useability, the RockNet audio network can now be configured through Ethernet, not just USB.

According to the company, Riedel users need to update all modules of a RockNet system as version 1.40 will not work with older firmware.
