Panasonic has released a new product from its P2HD series.
The AJ-HPM200 solid-state mobile recorder/player for professional use features the latest broadcast video codec, AVC-Intra (in compliance with MPEG-4 AVC/H.264) as standard, and records HD-SDI video signals at full HD (1920x1080 pixels, 10 bits and 4:2:2 sampling). As an option, it can record footage simultaneously in AVCHD and P2 formats, and play AVCHD file captured by AVCCAM series camera recorders or consumer-use AVCHD digital HD camera recorders. It can also convert AVCHD files to or from P2 files with optional AVCHD codec board.
The recorder is also equipped with a GB Ethernet and External Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (eSATA) interface as standard. With these features, news materials that have been recorded using a P2HD camera can be edited on-site, converted into highly compressed AVCHD files, and sent to the broadcast station at high speed. The edited content could then be aired as high-picture quality HD video.
The recorder also supports AVC-Intra, the latest broadcast HD codec, as standard. Full 10-bit HD video and 4:2:2 sampling can be recorded as MXF files on a P2 memory card for professional use.
The enhanced edit function and intuitive GUI gives improved operability. As an option, AVCHD files can be played — allowing P2 and AVCHD files to be mutually converted or simultaneously recorded. Equipped with a GB Ethernet and eSATA interface for high-speed data transfer as standard.
Another new product is the AG-HMR10U recorder and AG-HCK10G optional camera head. To allow tape users to smoothly transition to the AVCHD system, the AG-HMR10U will be bundled with Edius Neo 2 video editing software from Thomson Canopus.
The AG-HMR10U is a compact AVCHD recorder capable of HD-SDI input and output functions. The AG-HMR10U records up to 180 minutes of high quality HD video at a full-pixel HD sampling rate of 1,920 x 1,080 dots in a professional use-quality PH mode (maximum bit rate: 24Mbps). This is the same as the AG-HMC155 model, which can record up to 720 minutes of video using the HE mode (average bit rate: 6Mbps) onto a 32GB SDHC memory card.
The optional camera head AG-HCK10G features three MOS sensors with a total effective number of 2.51 million pixels. AG-HCK10G and AG-HMR10U are connected with optional cable (maximum 20m) and AG-HMR10U could control AG-HCK10 camera functions such as zoom, iris, focus and others by its front panel buttons.
The AG-HMR10U with AG-HCK10G combination is ideal for full-pixel HD applications in video production, sports coaching, healthcare, law enforcement, remote-operation/ surveillance.
