MediaVillage, an integrator of data-centric, digital post-production solutions for film and video professionals in South-east Asia, went out to impress BroadcastAsia2010 visitors last month with the new UltraStudio Pro from Blackmagic Design at this year’s show.

The new UltraStudio Pro, according to Peter Barber, Blackmagic Design’s director of Creative Services, is the world’s first broadcast-quality SD/HD capture and playback solution for USB 3.0 computers.

With the impressive speed of the new USB 3.0 interface built-in that runs at 4.8Gbps, the UltraStudio Pro has enough speed to easily process the highest quality uncompressed 10-bit HD video with maximum real-time effects.

The UltraStudio Pro also includes a massive number of video and audio connections including 3Gbps SDI, HDMI, analogue component, composite, -s-video, four-channel analogue audio, two-channel AES/EBU audio, genlock/tri-sync and RS422 deck control connections.

The UltraStudio Pro is priced at US$895.

Not to be forgotten, the DaVinci Resolve, widely regarded as the standard in post-production colouring, was also be showcased at Blackmagic Design’s booth. In keeping with the ongoing 3D trend, the Da Vinci Resolve grading suite now includes the new Impresario grading interface and specialised monitoring systems that enable stereoscopic 3D colouring in any resolution up to and including 4K.
