| Tata Sky relies on Wohler |
| Posted: April 2009 | ||||||
DTH provider Tata Sky has installed several audio-monitoring systems for its facility of 170 channels, which are delivered to more than three million subscribers across India. The DTH operator is using Wohler monitoring systems for mission-critical operations such as uplink, downlink, master control and transmission. Wohler installations in Tata Sky’s New Delhi facility include the following:
“Our monitoring systems offer ease of use, reliability and convenience even in complex multichannel facilities,” said Carl J Dempsey, Wohler’s president and CEO. The AMP1-S8SDA, for example, is said to offer exceptionally high-quality audio monitoring, processing and monitoring up to eight channels from an SDI bit stream, two sets of four AES/EBU signal pairs (balanced and unbalanced), or eight balanced analogue channels — all while occupying just one-rack space in a standard 19-inch-wide rack. “We anticipate a continued rise in the adoption of Wohler monitoring gear in India as this exciting market continues to grow,” added Dempsey.
