is equipping its electronic newsgathering (ENG) trucks with Vislink’s MTX5000 ENG transmitters to transmit live news from the field in HD. The TV station has deployed two MRC MTX5000 transmitters operating at 7GHz, which it will operate in two news trucks with telescopic masts and high-gain antenna systems. The equipment is configured to send ENG signals to two Vislink Link 2134 receivers featuring high-gain sector antennas and 360º coverage. The MTX5000 is an advanced, feature-rich HD video-transmission system for ENG that allows the user to manage RF, encoding and modulation in the field or remotely from the studio. It enables broadcasters to extend the newsroom into the field, to preview video content and react faster to breaking news stories. “Like all major broadcasters, we are moving to HD, and Vislink’s transmission equipment is taking us to the next level in the most efficient way. The configuration of the transmitters is very neat. The Diversity Receive system design is efficient which means we need fewer antennas and less cables on the tower,” said Caesar Villadiego, in charge of Net 25’s Digital TV Project. Vislink said it would continue to expand its operations in Asia.
