| Measat brings second 3DTV channel to region |

Measat Satellite Systems revealed that HighTV 3D has joined the Measat-3/3a video neighbourhood.
HighTV 3D is the second 3D channel on Measat’s HD video neighbourhood.The Measat-3/3a satellites distribute news, lifestyle, music, general entertainment, sports and documentary channels across Asia. With a bouquet of SD, HD and 3D channels, Measat said it is the preferred satellite operator for broadcast distribution in the region. HighTV is a 3D entertainment based channel. It distributes a full line-up of 3D HD programming, ranging from dramas and comedies to lifestyle and fashion. HighTV said it provides tens of millions of viewers with access to over 450 hours of high-quality 3D content across Asia and Europe. “Measat is proud to bring to Asia a second 3D channel to the Asia-Pacific region,” said Jarod Lopez, director of Sales, Broadcast Services at Measat. “Working with strategic partners in key locations, we have supported the growth of HD channel distribution in the Asia-Pacific. The addition of HighTV 3D channel through our partner strengthens the diversity of channels on our platforms.” In addition, Measat recently signed an agreement with Viacom 18 Media which calls for the Measat-3a satellite to be used for the international distribution of Viacom 18’s channels across Asia. Viacom 18 is a 50/50 joint-venture operation in India between Viacom and the Network 18 Group. The joint venture includes leading brands spanning TV, film and digital media to build one of India’s leading multimedia entertainment powerhouse. The brands include MTV, Nick, VH1, Colors and Viacom18 Motion Pictures. “With wide coverage and a powerful Asian footprint, Measat-3a is the obvious satellite choice for distribution of our international services,” said Piyush Gupta, CTO of Viacom 18. “Measat is excited to be working with Viacom 18 to distribute its popular international channels via Measat-3a,” said Yau Chyong Lim, senior director for sales and marketing at Measat. “The addition of Viacom 18’s channels further enhances the assortment of premium channels on Measat’s 91.5°E Asia video neighbourhood.”
