| 2wcom provides DVB-T monitoring solution |
With digital technology gradually replacing analogue broadcasting, the demands to monitor the transmission of digital systems is growing,
says 2wcom, a worldwide supplier of professional broadcast products. With that in mind, 2wcom has developed what it calls a sophisticated and flexible DVB-T monitoring receiver which allows networks to be monitored at any time. At BroadcastAsia2011, 2wcom will showcase the FlexMon DVB-T, which is able to perform a variety of activities including monitoring of the MPEG transport stream, validating the timing information of the Megaframe Initialising Packets (MIP), as well as monitoring the SFN performance and verifying GPS references. The FlexMon DVB-T is designed to continuously monitor and validate incoming MPEG data against the standard defaults or user-defined presets (MPEG-2 Error Measurement). The MIP, meanwhile, carries timing information to synchronise all transmitters in the broadcast DVB-T network. With the FlexMon DVB-T, all timing information can be validated, general errors figured out and alarms sounded when the timing errors frequently exceed the defined limits, adds 2wcom. 2wcom will also be offering its one-stop DVB-S/S2 system solution for professional audio, RDS (Radio Data System) and IP-transmission at booth 4Q4-10. The system includes the encoding, multiplexing, modulation (uplink) and professional Integrated receiver decoder DSR01/DSR02 (downlink) designed especially for professional audio and RDS encoding.
