| Thomson Broadcast to bring Elite bunch |
For broadcasters looking to reduce both power consumption and carbon footprint in digital TV (DTV) transmission, booth 4N4-01, where Thomson Broadcast will be displaying its Elite DTV transmitter product line, may be the place to be. According to Thomson, the Elite 1000 GreenPower is a sleek, high-performance UHF transmitter that features 50V LDMOS technology and boasts an output power of up to 9.6kW DVB per unit with an energy consumption savings of up to 15% over the previous Elite transmitter series. Using Thomson real-time Digital Adaptive Precorrection (DAP), the Elite 1000 GreenPower line provides “leading-edge” DTV transmission efficiency, optimised output power, high signal quality, as well as high redundancy. Meanwhile, Thomson calls its new medium-power-range Elite 100 GreenPower transmitter the “optimal choice” for low carbon dioxide, low-OPEX operation in initial digital deployments, while being adaptable to meet any field requirement because of its plug-and-play nature. The Elite 100 GreenPower transmitter also allows coverage to be extended in tandem with the Elite 1000 GreenPower transmitter. In addition, Thomson will be showcasing the new multi-channel version of its Elite 10 repeater, designed for rapid deployment for indoor or outdoor operations. The Elite 10 ISO frequency repeater is switchable in transposer mode and offers a two-level digital echo canceller. As part of Thomson’s Elite 10 repeater range, the multi-channel version also features active RF de-multiplexing for high-sensitivity input.
