| SGL to demonstrate its Open System architecture |
To reach out to as many visitors as possible, Software Generation Ltd (SGL) will be demonstrating its Open System architecture at the Harris (booth 4R2-01) and Gencom (booth 4M2-06) booths, highlighting the carbon footprint reduction, cost and workflow benefits that its fully accessible systems provide. SGL is a provider of content archive and storage management software solutions. At the Gencom booth demonstration, SGL will showcase how its FlashNet content storage solution will archive and restore online material from a variety of non-linear editing systems including Avid and Final Cut Pro to a Dynamic Drive Pool (DPP) archive under the control of the Team Network Production System from Gemini-soft. At the Harris booth, the SGL FlashNet demonstration will showcase a simple archive workflow to and from a Harris Nexio server system. The workflow will see material from the Nexio server sent to the SGL FlashNet system where a low-resolution proxy will be created and a high-resolution copy archived to a Tandberg T24 tape library. The proxy will be used to search and restore from the SGL FlashNet archive, while SGL’s graphical user interface (GUI) will also provide access to the Nexio server and instigate archive manually as and when requested. > Back to BCA2011 News
