| SeaChange’s media-centric storage supports IP-based tapeless workflows |
The SeaChange Universal MediaLibrary (UML) Grid will be making an Asian debut at this year’s show. The UML Grid features a “unique” cloud file system and powerful 10GigE infrastructure along with content management solutions designed to help broadcasters to create, store and monetise content in multi-screen environments. The UML Grid is a scalable, distributed, media-centric storage that supports IP-based tapeless workflows for ingest, playout, production and archive. At booth 4K1-01, SeaChange will demonstrates how the UML Grid storage enables direct ingest and edit-in-place with the latest Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5. Assets may be logged, searched and managed throughout its entire life cycle via SeaChange Browse. In addition, the SeaChange Universal MediaLibrary Grid storage configuration will be showcased, featuring performance of 5Gbps in a single stream and up to 144PB storage capacity in a grid system. According to SeaChange, the UML is central to the entire SeaChange Media Architecture. Unlike the traditional content library that caters to transmission playout or production storage only, the UML combines the traditional linear playout support with production and streaming into an all-in-one product. The open storage and server infrastructure is simple to manage and cost-effective, allowing direct ingest, edit-in-place, archive and play-to-air functionalities, says SeaChange.
