| Miranda Technologies highlights IT-based automation and playout system |
Calling it the world’s “most advanced” IT-based automated playout platform for linear and on-demand TV, the Miranda iTX promises to be the highlight at booth 4L2-06, where Miranda Technologies will be exhibiting at this year’s show.Miranda Technologies develops, manufactures and markets high-performance hardware and software for the TV broadcast industry. With the iTX, integration of linear and on-demand TV workflows is made possible, while allowing broadcast facilities to instantly share assets and playlists across linear and non-linear delivery. iTX also allows broadcast facilities to reduce capital expenditure and operating costs by replacing proprietary broadcast playout and processing hardware with enterprise-level IT servers and highly integrated software applications. Cost savings are achieved through reduced purchase costs, faster revenue generation, improved system scalability and more efficient workflows, says Miranda. According to the company, over 1,000 iTX channels are currently deployed worldwide at major broadcasters and playout centres, including Slovenian-based Satellite Telecommunications Network (STN), a provider of playout and transmission services in Eastern Europe. STN recently added eight more channels using the iTX IT-based automation and playout system. Other products being highlighted by Miranda include the Vertigo XG advanced graphics processor, which is designed for the most advanced, data-driven channel branding and promo graphics, including in-show promos and programme-junction promos.
