| Linear Acoustic to feature top solutions |
| Posted: February 2009 | ||||||
Visitors to 2009 NAB Show will witness how Linear Acoustic help solve the problems involving the production, distribution and transmission of high-quality loudness-controlled surround sound for DTV. The company, which is a member of the Telos group, will also demonstrate during the event how its end-to-end solutions improve loudness management in each section of the broadcast workflow. Among the products to be exhibited by Linear Acoustic at booth N1725 are the AERO.air 10-channel transmission loudness manager, AERO.qc ingest quality controller, AERO.pro production audio maximiser, AERO.one DTV audio/loudness manager, LAMBDA professional digital audio and metadata monitor, UPMAX:neo 5.1 channel production upmixer, and StreamStacker-HD e2 (e-squared) codecs. Taking off from the company’s first- and second-generation DTV audio processors, the third-generation AERO.air, featuring the built-in Dolby Digital (AC-3) encoding, enables broadcasters to deliver compelling 5.1-channel surround sound while saving time, money and space. The AERO.qc allows users to fix loudness problems automatically and in real time as audio enters the plant and is fed into the ingest server. The AERO.pro production audio maxi-miser enables users to achieve commanding sound quality in news and other locally produced content. Described as a third-generation audio processor, the AERO.one DTV audio/loudness manager offers broadcasters a simple and cost-effective solution for guarding against loudness shifts and loss of surround sound. The AERO.air and AERO.one range of audio/loudness managers act as a final catch-all at the tranmission level to balance local and network programming, and automatically provide correct metadata. Designed to enable audio and metadata monitoring throughout the entire broadcast chain, the LAMBDA professional digital audio and metadata monitor displays and reproduces up to 16 audio channels from AES or embedded HD/SD-SDI input. The LAMBDA loudness meter ensures compliance with federal regulations and viewer satisfaction, Linear Acoustic says. The UPMAX:neo eases the challenge of creating consistent, continuous 5.1-channel audio at a high standard of quality. To support multiple programmes with surround sound and alternate languages, the StreamStacker-HD high-density audio distribution system is capable of carrying 16 channels of audio and metadata in a single 48kHz, 20-bit AES pair.
