 Freeview Australia, which is being launched in phases, has selected IMPALA’s MHEG-5 as the iTV middleware for its suite of free-to-air DTT channels. Freeview is the brand name for the collection of Australia’s free-to-view DTV networks. The operation is owned by ABC, SBS, Seven, Nine, Ten, Prime, Southern Cross and WIN. The launch of phase two next year will see the deploy-ment of an MHEG-5-based EPG to all Freeview channels. The EPG will also allow channel and Freeview branding on screen.
