| Sony Australia picks Tektronix waveform monitors |
| Posted: March 2010 | ||||||
Tektronix, a worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation,
said Sony Australia has adopted its WFM8300 advanced waveform monitors, the latest addition to the Tektronix waveform monitor line-up, to support after-sales service for Sony’s professional and broadcast video equipment. The Tektronix waveform monitors will also be used in the installation, diag-nostic and acceptance testing of Sony equipment at customers’ premises. With the advent of 3Gbps digital video, Sony Australia is facing increasing demand from customers to provide technical support for 3Gpbs-capable Sony equipment. The WFM8200 and WFM8300 waveform monitors are ideal for multi-format environments, providing flexible options and field-installable upgrade kits to monitor diverse video types, including 3Gbps SDI, dual link, HD/SD SDI and composite analogue video. Tektronix-patented Spearhead and Luma Qualified Vector (LQV) displays facilitate precise colour adjustment for post-production applications. High-performance real-time eye-pattern display, jitter measurements and patented cable-length measurements enable superior physical-layer analysis. Both the WFM8300 and WFM8200 come standard with dual-link SDI (SMPTE 372M), compliant monitoring, automatic format detection (SMPTE 352M) and selectable display of alpha channel, as well as 2k dual-link monitoring with XYZ colour space.
