Designed for transporting 4K/Ultra HD (UHD), 3G/HD/SD-SDI and DVB-ASI streams over IP networks, Media Links’ MD8000 platform addresses the need for broadcasters to connect directly to native IP networks for multiple-wavelength transport links.
Media Links’ John Dale will also discuss the transition from SDI to IP at VidTrans17
What are the opportunities and challenges associated with the transition from SDI networks to IP? John Dale, director and CMO at Media Links, a developer and manufacturer of broadcast network infrastructure solutions, will attempt to answer this question, and more, at VidTrans2017.
Dale will be presenting a case study at the SDI to IP Core Infrastructure Change Out conference track, which will reference Japanese public broadcaster NHK.
Supported by the Video Services Forum (VSF), the VidTrans2017 technical conference and exposition will be taking place from Feb 28 – March 2 at the Marina del Rey Marriott in Los Angeles, California, USA.
On the show floor, Media Links will also showcase the convergence and transportation of a suite of broadcast signals onto a distributed IP switch fabric. The demonstration will feature Media Links’ MDX 4090 IP router with PTP (precision timing protocol) capabilities, and the MD8000 platform of media-over-IP transport solutions. The entire system will be managed through
the Element Management System (ProMD EMS) with touch-panel control software.
Dale said: “As part of its broad IP transport and switching product portfolio, which effectively eliminates the divide between LAN and WAN media networks, all Media Links’ IP solutions focus on ‘Broadcast without Limits’, a concept and commitment to the industry that delivers on the universal need for proven standards-based technologies to carry all content, whether it be video, audio or data, across broadcast IP networks, both globally and locally.”
