| Posted: March 2009 | ||||||
Kuala Lumpur – UK-based OmniBus Systems opened its Asia-Pacific office last month with British High Commissioner Boyd McCleary and key industry officials present.OmniBus has been in the region for more than 10 years but it was only recently that it has set up a more permanent office base through the regional headquarters in the Malaysian capital. Prior to opening the office, some of OmniBus’ staff would typically work on location at various broadcasters and TV networks. From the regional office, OmniBus said it could better serve its existing clientele as it plans to branch out to other countries in the region.” From [Kuala Lumpur], we are managing existing OmniBus customers and engaging in sales and marketing activities across a triangle that spans from Mumbai to Tokyo to Sydney,” OmniBus sales manager for APAC Fintan McKiernan told APB. “Our new regional head office in Kuala Lumpur and sub-office in Hong Kong offer us a permanent base for the region,” he added. Laurie Mascott, OmniBus’ executive vice-president, said: “Kuala Lumpur’s strategic location and well-connected airport allow us easy access to our main markets and customers across the region in India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Australia. We are also close at hand to support our existing local business with Astro, RTM and TV3.” McKiernan added: “We are looking forward to growing our Malaysian business in tandem with expanding into new markets such as Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand, all of which will entail growing our team in Malaysia over the coming years.” He said OmniBus’ iTX system, a IT-based production, automation and playout solution, is seeing greater demand and growing market in the region. At the regional office, the company can also run product demonstrations, and hold sales and training meetings and seminars. OmniBus Systems provides broadcasting, cable and satellite organisations with comprehensive automation and media content management solutions that ad-dress every area of TV-related operations. Its newsroom, content and workflow automation solutions include acquisition and recording of rich media material, low-resolution editing, MAM and playout.
