HONG KONG – Astro, the Malaysia-based DTH pay-TV operator, recently won the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia’s (CASBAA)
Annual Chairman’s Award for an “outstanding contribution to the Asia-Pacific multichannel pay-TV industry over the past 12 months”. “However, this year’s award is about more than performance during the past 12 months. Astro has taken a leadership role for our industry over many years,” said Marcel Fenez, chairman of CASBAA.
Accepting the award, Astro CEO Rohana Rozhan (pictured, left) said: “We are delighted with CASBAA’s recognition of Astro’s excellent performance in the Asia-Pacific’s pay-TV market.
“In view of the challenging economic environment, Astro has been conscientious in providing value to its customers by reinvesting in our broadcast and customer-service infrastructure, as well as increasing our content spend in local content and the localisation of foreign content.”
