| Celestial Pictures to partner with award-winning director on 2 movies |

with one of the most creative film-makers in Chinese cinema today — Teddy Chen Tak-Sum. Chen, who was recently named Best Director at the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards for the Best Picture Bodyguards and Assassins, said he would direct and produce his next two feature films with Hong Kong-based Chinese entertainment company, Celestial Pictures. The first feature film will be a remake of a classic title from the world-famous Shaw Brothers Film Library, which is owned by Celestial Pictures. The second project will be a modern action film inspired by current events. Both projects are currently under development with details to be announced at a later time. Chen will direct and produce the two movies for Celestial Pictures through his production company, Sum-Wood Productions. Said Peter Poon, senior vice-president, Theatrical Distribution, Celestial Pictures: “[Teddy Chen] is well known among international audiences for thrilling and edgy action films and unique dramas. His vision and dedication to the highest-quality film-making certainly places him in the company of the top global producers and directors of feature films. Following his enormous success with Bodyguards and Assassins, Celestial Pictures looks forward to collaborating with Teddy to bring to life his next two films.” Ross Pollack, CEO of Celestial Pictures, added: “Although we are unable to reveal specific details at this time, we are confident that the two projects we are developing with Chen will capture the attention of global fans of Chinese cinema. Our ongoing feature production will focus on creating new stories for the worldwide audience of Chinese cinema. As part of our slate, we will reinterpret classic Shaw Brothers’ titles to introduce these films to a new generation of film-goers.” Chen added that he is thrilled to be working with Celestial Pictures. “We are looking at bringing some very creative and innovative projects to Chinese cinema audiences around the globe, including modern interpretations of the Shaw Brothers library. It is all about telling good stories and entertaining our audiences,” he said. In addition to the two upcoming movie projects, Celestial Pictures also has inked a multi-year agreement for the exclusive worldwide theatrical, TV, mobile and new media distribution rights outside China of The Enchanter, the upcoming movie from Sum-Wood Productions.
