Ostmodern delivers BBC Player into AsiaMarch 14, 2017
Powered by Ostmodern’s Skylark content management system (CMS), the BBC Player is now available in Singapore and Malaysia
The BBC Player, a subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) service offered by the BBC, is now available to StarHub and TM Net subscribers in Singapore and Malaysia respectively.
Built using the Skylark content management system (CMS) from Ostmodern, a digital product design and video-on-demand (VoD) delivery company, the BBC Player offers viewers in both countries curated content from BBC Earth, BBC Lifestyle, BBC First, CBeebies, BBC World News and BBC Brit.
Besides providing the framework for the roll-out of on-demand access to BBC content, the Skylark platform allows the BBC to handle user authentication and video delivery while supporting an editorial-led approach to content recommendations. In addition, the platform includes advanced workflow management functionality.
According to Ostmodern, Skylark also provides channel partners the tools to deliver a personalised experience for their subscribers to drive content discovery.
Tom Williams, CEO at Ostmodern, added: “We are delighted to be working with BBC Worldwide on this new service. It demonstrates the power of Skylark as an integration framework while showcasing the powerful content curation and editorial workflow tools in the CMS.”
