| LifeSize unveils HD system for cloud-based platform |
| Posted: August 2011 | ||||||
LifeSize, a division of Logitech, has unveiled LifeSize Passport Connect, a HD video-conferencing system optimised for cloud-based
platforms with plug-and-play technology and a price that can enable broader deployments for telecommuters and remote offices.LifeSize Passport Connect is the first product that leverages both Logitech and LifeSize technologies. The system includes a Logitech HD camera and delivers a video and audio experience that is open and interoperable. Logitech said cloud-based platforms are poised to expand the video-conferencing market from the small and medium-sized business to the enterprise, changing the way businesses use HD video collaboration. LifeSize Passport Connect is designed to provide a simple user experience when communicating through cloud-based platforms. Because the product also works with Session Initiation Protocol-based IP PBX systems, customers can enjoy a plug-and-play, high-quality user experience. LifeSize Passport Connect also helps eliminate the need to locate another user or search for a lengthy IP address with its directory name-based dialing for intuitive calling. “Since we were acquired by Logitech in 2009, we have been actively collaborating on our shared vision of making HD video calling as ubiquitous as a phone call,” said Michael See, country manager of ASEAN at LifeSize Communications. “Working within Logitech on LifeSize Passport Connect is a natural extension of our strengths and accelerates universal video collaboration by continuing our track record of breaking the boundaries of quality, flexibility and total cost of ownership.”
