| Softel launches MediaSphere DTA |
| Posted: December 2011 | ||||||
Softel has launched the MediaSphere DTA, a transport stream generator capable of distributing data to digital transport adapters (DTAs).
With the MediaSphere DTA, cable operators using full or partial analogue infrastructure can deliver advanced digital services and additional channel packages in order to attract larger audiences and increase revenue. In addition, the MediaSphere DTA allows cable operators to maximise their bandwidth capacity of their current infrastructure for quick, economical delivery of digital services, including service information, electronic programme guide and VoD. This increased bandwidth helps operators deliver additional channels and packages, which can generate additional revenue by offering viewers a broader range of options, said Softel. Sam Pemberton, CEO of Softel, added: “MediaSphere DTA, coupled with consumer-premise DTA devices, enables cable operators to gain an edge against even the most competitive providers. That allows our customers to deploy premium TV services rapidly and economically to satisfy their subscribers without costly major infrastructure upgrades.”
